Image Composition
Composition & Design Principles in Visualization
The topic of composition came up during a recent challenge, and it’s one that deserves more attention—especially in architectural visualization and digital illustration. Strong composition isn’t just for traditional artists or photographers; it’s a foundational principle that applies to any visual medium, including rendering and CG art.
Recently, Susan Sorger of Entourage Art shared some helpful resources on the subject at CGArchitect, and I thought this would be a great opportunity to build on those by posting them here and encouraging further discussion.
Useful Resources on Composition
While many of these articles focus on photography or fine art, the design principles they explore—such as balance, focal point, rhythm, and rule of thirds—are equally important in visualization.
